Pictured above: New recipe experiment from last week, the Hash-Brown, Tomato, and Spinach Pie. It was very good. I threw in the rest of the ham left over from Easter. We cut it into big squares and also ate it, heated up, for breakfast. That's a "make-again," as Mr. L terms the winners. Here is a pro tip: If you try it, make sure your damn hash browns are defrosted. I went to make this and they were a solid lump. Chipping away at your hash browns is not a good way to go.
Onto the whining, which I will try to keep to a minimum. Not sure if I mentioned it, but my laptop of many years died recently. I bought a new one and am attempting to make friends with Windows 8. It is not going well, frankly. Mr. L warned me, but I had no idea. I am not great with technology. The old laptop and I understood each other's quirks. It seems too much to ask to have to re-boot this often. Whew. Done with whining! Thanks for listening.
Well, the Merrie Monarch has concluded, and from all reports, it was another successful Hilo event. Congratulations to all who participated. Here are some photos of highlights.
