My co-worker Shelly brought this cake to work recently. It was warm from the oven, and I had just gotten myself a cup of coffee. That was a really good start to the day. We teased her, asking who had made it, because Shelly normally bakes via the "Smoke Alarm Method." As it turns out, though, she made it all by herself, and she said it was easy. Darned if it isn't.
Step One: Get an Angel Food cake mix and a can of crushed pineapple. (Shelly insisted I get the Duncan Hines brand. I really don't know if that's truly necessary, but not having made it before, who was I to argue?) Step Two: Spray a pan with non-stick spray and preheat oven to 350. Step Three: Combine the pineapple and cake mix. Stir well. Bake for 30 - 40 minutes, or until the top is nicely browned. It ain't fancy, but if you Want Cake Now, this works.
