I recently received a loaf of their Rainbow Bread and wondered why I hadn't been by the restaurant/bakery to purchase it, lately. It's great! They don't have much of a website, so I am giving you a link, here, to their Yelp reviews. There are some good pictures that folks have taken, and a little more description of the breads and menu. I like their breakfast, myself.
But let's get back to the bread -- particularly, the Rainbow Bread. Rainbow is made up of guava, mango, and sweet bread. Besides being extremely sporty-looking, it's delicious. I made a couple of things last weekend (pictured below). The first is French Toast, which I topped with some of Mr. L's sliced apple bananas. The second photos are of a Monte Cristo sandwich. Encased in that Rainbow Bread are swiss cheese, ham, and turkey. I dipped the sandwiches in an egg wash and fried them in butter. It was a very decadent lunch, which I easily rationalized (worked in garden all morning). As long as I was being rationalize-y, I also had a beer. Needed to replace fluids. The bread makes a really nice gift (that is how I got my loaf). Now that I have been reminded of how good it is, I need to get it back in my downtown errand rotation. Hope you try it and enjoy it.
