Whatever, though -- it makes a really great burger. Note: I often cut the recipe in half.
The leftovers are great, too.
Poor Man's Filet Mignon
adapted from The Grill Out Chill Out Cookbook
2 1/2 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
1 cup grated carrots
1 onion, shredded
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
6 - 8 slices of bacon
Combine ground beef or turkey, carrots, onion, Cheddar cheese, bell pepper, salt, pepper, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce in large bowl. Shape into 8 patties. Wrap bacon slice around each patty; secure with wooden pick, Grill or fry.
