Yes, that is really and truly the title for the recipe below.  Years ago, Mr. L. picked up an odd little cookbook for me entitled The Grill Out Chill Out Cookbook. Darned if it doesn't have some really good recipes in it (like the coconut pie I made a few weeks ago).  I have made this "Poor Man's Filet Mignon" for years.  Does it really taste like filet mignon?  How active is your imagination?  We used to think there was a similarity somehow.  I now think that is probably due to the tender texture, along with the Worcestershire and bacon.

Whatever, though -- it makes a really great burger.  Note:  I often cut the recipe in half.

The leftovers are great, too.

Poor Man's Filet Mignon
adapted from The Grill Out Chill Out Cookbook
2 1/2 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
1 cup grated carrots
1 onion, shredded
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
6 -  8 slices of bacon
Combine ground beef or turkey, carrots, onion, Cheddar cheese, bell pepper, salt, pepper, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce in large bowl.  Shape into 8 patties.  Wrap bacon slice around each patty; secure with wooden pick,  Grill or fry.
